For me, a career in Insurance was “Plan B”, which is actually very common in the profession. But what a great Plan B it has turned out to be!

I started as a claims adjuster 20+ years ago for Allstate, and then after a move to Portland ended up at Grocers Insurance, a specialty provider created to serve grocery retailers and convenience stores. What a great training my work in Claims, Loss Prevention and eventually Sales provided me. Working with so many successful retailers every day really taught me their concerns and the best insurance solutions for their issues.

Grocers Insurance became Argo Insurance and dropped their coverage for small and mid-sized retailers, dropping me at the same time. But I immediately came into an excellent situation at Sandin Insurance Group and have continued to specialize in Grocery and Convenience Stores, also branching out to other retailers such as Furniture, Restaurants and Dry Cleaners.

My goal is that my customers feel impeccably cared for, and trust that I bring them great insurance solutions at a fair price. I want them to feel that their insurance needs are well met, and they are free to focus on their own profitability, knowing that I am “minding the store” with regards to their insurance needs.

My wife Renee and I have two children in high school and live in Beaverton. In my “spare time” I enjoy bicycling and building bikes for family and friends.
